Mark Zuckerberg isn’t the only modern student genius that came out of Harvard.
The Facebook maker/creator was actually roomies with Haitian Olympian Samyr Laine, who is scheduled to compete in the triple jump in London.
Although he’s American born, Laine’s parents are originally from Haiti. In 2007, the athlete made his first pilgrimage to mom and pop’s homeland, but with the purpose to gain a spot in the Olympics.
He realized competition was quite stiff in the States, and to better his chances, went to Haiti to more or less guarantee his spot in the big games.
“In the US, even gold medalists are a dime a dozen,” Laine told Bloomberg. “There’s a lot more good I can do competing for Haiti, representing the country on the international level.”

This isn’t the first time an American born athlete to compete for a foreign country.
Basketball players Becky Hammon represented Russia and Chris Kaman represented Germany.
