LA Lakers Forward Matt Barnes Busted; Allegedly Resists Arrest

matt barnes*Los Angeles Lakers forward Matt Barnes got himself busted Monday night for an outstanding traffic warrant, and for mouthing off to the arresting officer, TMZ is reporting.

According to law enforcement sources, Barnes was busted by police in Manhattan Beach, CA for a misdemeanor traffic warrant, and we’re told he also resisted the arresting officer.

Barnes is currently being booked by Manhattan Beach PD for the traffic violation, and for resisting an executive officer … a felony.

According to our sources … Matt was walking in Manhattan Beach around 8:30PM when he was first approached by Manhattan Beach PD — and when officers ran a check on him they discovered a massive $26,000 unpaid traffic warrant for driving on a suspended license.

We’re told Barnes made threats against one of the officers — which is why he got slapped with the felony for resisting.

As of this posting, Barnes is being held on $51,000 bail — $26k of which is the unpaid warrant.

Why do celebs drive around on suspended license?

  2. “Barnes made threats against one of the officers — which is why he got slapped with the felony for resisting.”

Wow! what a lucky ass break and option given to Matt Barnes.

Had that been a black male non celebrity, or athlete making any threat to either one of the officers would have simply been shot & murdered.

It’s no secret that celebs, non celebs, legal & illegal drive on suspended license. Apparently they don’t care. The rules are different for celebs, athletes as well as those that come from the border.

Furthermore, what’s up with that so call bad boy image that Barnes try so hard to come cross as being? The Game screwed Barnes nasty ex as they were so call friends. So He tough he never stepped to him on that.

  3. We’re told Barnes made threats against one of the officers.

    Yeah, right.
Anything a black man says to challenge the pigs authority can be deemed as a threat.
The officer had a recording device, so I would like to hear this threat.

Lt. Steve Tobias of the Manhattan Beach Police Dept. Tobias declined to divulge what Barnes said to the officer.
    :?

The recorded evidence will not show up, but the word of the officer will be given enough credence to immediately justify a felony charge.

He can beat these charges, but it will take money. But imagine all the poor folks who get caught up in this BS daily. That’s the system we live in, where a police can screw up your whole life because he didn’t like the way you responded to him.
    Resisting arrest my ass.

But exactly how can a suspended license violation turn into 26 grands?
Ever wondered where they got the money to pay cops so much and to drive around in all them police cruisers with the latest high tech equipment? It’s a business. The more people they charge the more luxury they can afford. All at our expense.

    Barnes on Twitter:
“Funny how a small situation turns into a “Urban Legend”.. A $26,000 traffic ticket?? Come on now smh.. Have a good night.”
