*Look out, Alicia Keys has something “crazy” for ya at the VMAs. The singer will be debuting new music – “Empowering” on stage Sept. 6.

This is good news since she’s been on something like a hiatus since tying the knot with Swizz Beatz and having a baby, Egypt Daoud Ibarr Dean.

The last album we’ve heard from her was “The Element of Freedom” in 2009. She’s had a few hit songs here and there, but it’s her time to shine with a new project.

Entitled “Girl on Fire,” Keys promises this one is going to be the greatest yet.

She plans to expose a different side of herself, something the world has never seen.

Perhaps she was heading in that direction when she did the big chop… hmm.

“Debuting a new song at the VMAs is definitely special. I debuted ‘No One’ at the VMAs — it was the first time anyone in the world heard ‘No One,’” Keys told MTV News. “It’s the perfect setting. It’s the right energy. It’s the right vibe. People are so excited about the night of music and hearing different styles that it just goes over really well. I can’t wait!”
