The cover features New York underground rapper Azealia Banks smoking a blown up condom like a cigar. The caption reads “Azealia Banks Blows Up.”
Dazed & Confused created hype around the controversy by tweeting last week that the cover had already been banned. The magazine finally released the image this morning.
As tipped (no pun intended), the Sharif Hamza-shot cover features Banks posing with an inflated bright pink condom between her lips like an oversized blunt.

Hip-Hop (rap) died – to me/in my life – circa ’09 after Iearning the price of [most] fame…and one’s soul is just too priceless to trade for material items that fade away. And here comes one of the most talented lyricists I’ve heard since probably Jean Grae [save a few, I forget] only to downgrade her Self by joining the ranks of the turned-out MKUltra crew. Oh well, we’ve all got free will but I’m glad it was banned…we’ve got to protect the children.
