Gabby Douglas Gets a Kiss from her Celebrity Crush (Video)

*When the cast of CW’s “Vampire Diaries” heard that 16-year-old Olympian Gabby Douglas is a die-hard fan of the show, they sprung into action to make another one of her dreams come true.

Shortly after the Virginia Beach native became the first African American and fourth American period to win the women’s gymnastics all-around gold medal at the London Olympics on Aug. 2, the cast taped a special video message to the athlete. [Scroll down to watch.]

The 35-second clip is especially exciting for Douglas, as she recently told Us Weekly that her “celebrity crush is Ian Somerhalder.” The actor, 33, plays one-half of the bloodsucking Salvatore brothers.

Other “Vampire Diaries” stars who participate in the video include Nina Dobrev, 23, Paul Wesley, 30, Claire Holt, 24, and Michael Trevino, 27.

After congratulating her and wishing her luck, Somerhalder even blows Douglas a kiss. Watch below.
