The rap mogul and part-owner of the Brooklyn Nets is teaming with 2K Sports to help produce NBA2K13.  Larry Frum of CNN reports that Jay-Z will have input into the music, crowd reactions and in-game menus.

“‘NBA2K13′ will be the next evolution in sports and basketball culture, and I’m ready to usher in the new era of the franchise,” he said in a statement.

Besides his own music, Jay-Z has also included on the soundtrack songs from U2, P Diddy, Coldplay and his Watch the Throne partner Kanye West.

The game will be released in October.
