Lolo Jones Breaks Down Discussing NY Times Article (Video)

lolo jones*If you didn’t see it, Olympic runner Lolo Jones went on the Today Show this morning to discuss heart breaking loss on Tuesday.

She finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles, 0.10 seconds behind bronze medalist Kellie Wells. At Beijing four years ago, Jones was leading the final when she hit the ninth of 10 hurdles and wound up seventh.

On the “Today Show,” Savannah Guthrie brought up the scathing New York Times article written by Jere Longman this past Saturday. Longman ripped Jones to shreds basically calling her a fame-seeking fraud.

“They just ripped me to shreds, and I just thought that that was crazy,” Jones said tearfully.

Awwww!! I felt bad when she came in 4th last night. I saw a feature on her on HBO back in May talking bout her disappoitmnet 4 yrs ago in Beijing and how she worked so hard thru injuries ot train and get ready for this olympics. The media can surely build you up and then tear you down at the same time. I doubt if we see her in Rio 2016.

I don’t feel sorry for her mulatto self. She is promoting herself a lot when she isn’t even a real contender.

I pretty much feel the same. Lolo is similar to Anna kournikova. The media has dissed those much more deserving of the attention in favor of her. I guess this is what many in the mulatto movement mean by gaining additional privileges.

  3. This is the first time I’ve heard of her.

  4. nightshift says:

She committed media-suicide, she fed her own self to the wolves . ..I don’t think they’d should have dogged her so but, when she started telling everybody that she was a virgin, saving herself for her husband EVERY FREAKING DAY? They couldn’t call out her out of her name, so they did the next obvious thing, roasted her athletic ability or lack thereof. To me, to reach the OLYMPICS is monumental with a medal being the ultimate. LoLo, ya did your best, I’m disappointed you didn’t win. Keep your chins up! You’re still a winner.

  5. Well, it’s not her fault that the media is so superficial. She’s just smart enough to take advantage of it.
She’s also not a fraud. She would have had a gold medal if she didn’t trip in Beijing and she ran her way onto the team for London. Considering her age, her fourth is also commendable.

The NY Times should be ashamed for running an article like that.

  6. I cosign Nightshift. She is still a winner and I will admit she fed herself to the wolves. I think she is disappointed she didn’t live up to the hype she sold.

  7. Diva007, what about the 2 chicks from USA that placed second and third. I have heard nothing, absolutely nothing and they deserve a little airtime. They crossed all their hurdles with perfect execution. Lolo looked like she was running in her opponent’s lane. she did not look good in the finals but I was rooting for because they shoved her down my through weeks prior to the Olympics.

  8. nightshift says:

Yeah, they need to move on, sorry for LoLo but, the olympics is about winning.

  9. You are right Williena, the other ladies deserve much more accolades….well you know she’s biracial so u know how that rolls.
