Sherman Hemsley Died from Lung Cancer

*The results are in, actor Sherman Hemsley passed away recently due to complications from a cancerous lung.

The death certificate officially reads that he died from “superior vena cava syndrome,” a condition developed from a mass on the lung.

Also, according to reports, the actor was advised to undergo chemo and radiation, however it’s unclear if he planned to follow through with the treatment.

Hemsley was found dead last month in his El Paso, TX home at the age of 74.
