Terrell Owens Back in the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks

*Well, well, well … look who’s off the sidelines and back in the NFL. It’s none other than Terrell Owens

It looks like the Seattle Seahawks and Owens have what each other is for. They need a veteran wide receiver and he needs a check badly … for his many baby mamas.

The 38-year-old Owens had a tryout with the Seahawks on Monday morning, and hours later the team announced it had agreed to terms with the former star receiver. He hasn’t played in the NFL since the 2010 season with Cincinnati, when he caught 72 passes for 983 yards and nine touchdowns.

Foxsports.com first reported the agreement between Owens and the Seahawks. Terms of Owens’ contract weren’t available.

Owens sat out the entire 2011 season following surgery on his left knee and failed to receive any offers. He then had surgery on his left knee and didn’t receive any offers to play last season.

Owens initially made his return this spring playing for the Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League. He had 35 catches for 420 yards and 10 touchdowns while playing eight of 11 games, but was released and lost an ownership stake in the team in May.

Owens is the latest veteran receiver the Seahawks have signed since training camp began. It started when the Seahawks brought in Antonio Bryant, but he was cut late last week. Seattle also signed Braylon Edwards, who played sparingly in 2011 with San Francisco during an injury-filled season. Now it’s Owens getting his chance.

I do not know how good of a WR Terrell is but he has some serious emotional issues along with his numerous childrena and such, hopefully he can make the best of this go around with yet another team.

He used to be an elite receiver and he will surely go to the Hall of Fame. I don’t know how he will be now after his injuries and sitting out for a while. Terrell has always taken care of himself so I know he can productive of some sort. I hope he makes the most of it.

  2. Good for him…he has another chance to get it together. I hope with all he’s been through it has humbled him and that he will do the best he can with Seattle.

Not to be mistaken as “justsaying”

I agree, I am very happy to see him back and on the road to redemption. Sometimes it takes a total breakdown to build back up. I wish him well!

  3. The lay off may actually work to his advantage. After so many years in the league, maybe it’s not a bad idea to do a Rickey Williams then come back rejuvenated. And they must be mightily impressed to sign him so quick. We may see him taking off where he left off with with the Bangles.

I sure hope this knee-grow acts like he has sense, I’m surprised he got a job to be honest . . . . .and what ever happened to Rickey Wms? Not trying to be funny but, is he still looking for his marbles?
