Trey Songz Decides to Grill Up the Beef with R. Kelly

*It’s nice when artists kiss and make up, particularly old school and new school R&B baby makin’ music makers like R. Kelly and Trey Songz.

The two called it quits on their public feud.

“I love R. Kelly,” Trey told MTV News. “He recently said that he would love to work with me, said that he’s a fan of mine, and that’s very special to me. I can’t really explain how much that means to me. He’s been an influence and an idol for me for a long time.”

Sweet. He continued, saying that the veteran singer will always be at the top of his R&B singer list.

The bottom line is, though, Kellz never really swatted back at the youngin’. Instead he responded like a true O.G.

“I feel there’s a lot of talented guys out there when it comes to R&B, and what I urge guys out there to do, that’s coming up under me, [aiming for] longevity, is to stay away from beef,” R. Kelly said in a previous interview. “Stay true and respectful to music and to the ones that inspired you to do what you do. I think that’s going to be the key to having longevity and it’s also going to be the key to keeping R&B alive.”

The beef began in 2009, when Trey made a diss record, “(D.O.K.) DEATH OF KELLZ.”

But Kelly stayed cool about it and sort of brushed it off never really attacking him back.

Now it’s all love.

The new jacks need to show some respect for the OGs…after all, the majority of new jacks can’t really sing all that well….for instance..look at Uncle Charlie Wilson …sings circles around all of em….

And?, if he didn’t have a “look” that lady’s are feelin?, he reeeeeally wouldn’t be “‘on”!! The game was just missing “that lane” is all, & dude was HELLA lucky to have K. Lyles quarterbackin the SHYT outta his career. But again?, I’d dude had to sing “someone else’s songs”?, he woukdn’t come off ANYwhere neeeeear how he does, on his own material. There’s a HUGE difference between a sangah

lil man needs to respect his elders, props to Kelly for paying this punk no never-mind

  5. I agree with others who stated Trey should respect those who came before him. It’s due to their hard work that he’s able to enjoy the level of success that he has attained.

While I don’t think, Trey is a good singer. He’s moreso a studio production artist, let’s be muthafreakin’ real — R. Kelly ain’t the greatest singer either. Dude is a helluva producer and songwriter extraordinaire, but singing ain’t his strength regardless of the amount of hits he’s had/has.
