*After celebrating what would have been the 54th birthday of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, just a few short weeks ago, it somehow seems fitting that fans are still “in the realm of Michael.” And this momentum is not lost on BET; as it celebrates the 25th Anniversary of Michael Jackson’s “Bad” Short Films, with a two hour tribute to the fallen “King of Pop.”
The specials airing will correspond with the release of “BAD25,” a special addition re-release of Jackson’s seventh studio album, “Bad.” Included along with the original album will be unreleased demo tracks, a Live CD, and a DVD of Jackson’s performance at Wembley Stadium during the “BAD World Tour.”
Michael Jacksons “Thriller” was also re-released on its 25th Anniversary. Working with Sony and The Michael Jackson Estate, BET has planned a unique tribute that will include photos, footage and interviews with celebrity fans; Ne-Yo, Ashanti, Michael Eric Dyson, A$AP Rocky, Beverly Johnson, Affion Crockett, Al Sharpton, MC Lyte and others.
The Tribute will air on Tuesday, September 18 at 8pm ET.
