*TMZ is reporting that Simon Cowell is close to bringing on Khloe Kardashian as the new host of “The X Factor.”

Kardashian is reportedly a frontrunner to replace host Steve Jones after a successful screen test. She would join a newly-revamped show with Britney Spears and Demi Lovato joining Cowell and returning judge L.A. Reid at the judges’ table.
If Cowell, who apparently considers her a magnet for young viewers along with Spears and Lovato, hires the E! star for his Fox talent competition, then she would have to start immediately. The second-season premieres Sept. 12 and 13.
Reps for the show and Kardashian have yet to confirm the reports.
