*Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Miguel has claimed the #1 spot on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Chart with his hit single “Adorn” for a third consecutive week as he gears up for the Tuesday, October 2 release of Kaleidoscope Dream (ByStorm/RCA)with TV performances, tour dates and rave reviews!
Miguel will kick off his album release day with national TV performances on “The Wendy Williams Show” and “106 & Park.” In the following weeks, Miguel will hit the late night TV circuit with performances on “The Late Show with David Letterman” on October 9 and “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on October 16.
In addition to the coveted feature on NPR’s “First Listen,” Miguel and Kaleidoscope Dream has quickly acquired a groundswell of new fans and rave reviews. SPIN lists the album on their “25 Fall Albums You Gotta Hear” roundup, stating:
“Though he certainly belongs in the innovative, new-school R&B vanguard along with Frank Ocean and the Weeknd, Miguel seems even more adventurous, willing to let tracks wander down all sorts of unexpected, yet always slickly seductive, paths… Dude is not playing.”
Complex ranks the album amongst their “The Top 50 Most Anticipated Albums for The Rest of 2012″ declaring Miguel “an R&B force to be reckoned with… The momentum is undeniable.”
Recently, Miguel garnered 4 Soul Train Awards nominations including “Best R&B/Soul Male Artist,” “Song of The Year” and “Best Hip-Hop Song of the Year” for “Lotus Flower Bomb” with Wale, and “The Ashford & Simpson Songwriter’s Award” for his contribution to the John Legend featuring Ludacris song, “Tonight (Best You Ever Had).” Miguel also earned three BET Hip Hop Awards nominations including “Best Male R&B Artist,” “Best Collaboration” for the song “Lotus Flower Bomb” with Wale as well as “Viewers’ Choice Award” for that same track. The 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards will air Tuesday, October 9. The Soul Train Awards ’12 will air on Sunday, November 25 on BET and Centric.
Signed to Mark Pitts’ ByStorm imprint in 2007, Miguel’s progressive critically acclaimed 2010 debut album All I Want Is You, spawned two #1 hit singles – “Quickie” and “Sure Thing,” as well as the album title track. While his debut album earned him unanimous praise, Kaleidoscope Dream takes him down a new path of musical exploration with ground breaking, cutting edge precision. The album features production from Salaam Remi [Amy Winehouse, Adele], Pop & Oak [Kanye West, Big Sean], and Jerry Wonda [The Fugees, Wyclef Jean], amongst others.
While Miguel has been slowly whetting appetites for his highly anticipated sophomore album, he’s been selling out shows with his infectious songs and immeasurable charisma.
