*Bishop T.D. Jakes may have to deal with a bit of church criticism since his daughter just announced her divorce from Robert Henson after four years of marriage.
Also a leader in the ministry, Sarah Henson posted the announcement on her website, asking for prayer. She cited “multiple infractions” as reason for the break up.
This isn’t the first time the Women’s ministry leader has rocked the Christian world.
While she and Robert have a child, she also has another from a previous relationship. She was 14 when she gave birth for the first time.
Regardless of what anyone may think, Sarah claims that both her and her children’s safety is being threatened. In her letter to the public, she was sure to reason her decision with Biblical backing.
“After professional counseling and prayerful consideration, I have decided to end my four-year marriage,” she wrote. “There are biblical grounds supporting this decision and I have attempted every other recourse but after multiple infractions over the course of the union, and for my personal safety and that of my children I have come to this painful decision.”
After all that was said, she asked for prayer and privacy.
I appreciate black women giving us brothers a chance, but just from the photo, I’m like, there’s a beautiful plus-size black woman wearing a casual and stylish look. And her husband’s wearing a white tee, a black leather jacket, and an athletic cap with the label still on. I see incongruity. I mean, I’m not seeing thug ninja, but at the same time, I guess if he’s trying to represent his family to the public, I’d expect no hat and maybe a collared sweater of some sort. Say I’m shallow or judging a book by its cover, but as the head of the family, he needs to represent respect and authority.

@Melody, I’ve heard through the grapevine that he was indeed a notorious cheater. He was in the NFL for a hot second so you know how that goes. I think they married too early. She was 19 yrs old. Well I’m glad she is not the woman to suffer in silence for the sake of pleasing imperfect Christians and holding up for “the ministry” unlike Eddie Jones wife. At the end of the day, you have to do what you have to for your sanity so I don’t blame Sarah.
Guess she tolerated his indiscretions for as long as she could then decided to deal with reality.
She’s very pretty young woman. Unfortunate that she had to end her marriage but she has to do what’s best for her. She shouldn’t care about what the others say because it is her life and not theirs. She has to live with it and she has her children to be responsible for. Too many times, the church has too much say in people’s lives. I also not surprised that she got knocked up at an early age. The church is unnecessarily conservative when it comes to sex. Some of us need to cut out the puritan act and be realistic when it comes to sex. All this repression is not good for the soul at all.
Nobody should judge her anyway for her descision. She’s still human and has the right to put her happiness first…church or no church.
The church folks don’t live in that woman’s house! Those sanctimonious folks need to find a new hobby. Sarah decided to end her marriage, she did what she had to do. Anyone having a problem with that should get over it and respect her decision.
