*(Via MTV News) – Natina Reed of late-’90s girl group Blaque was killed early Saturday (October 27) in Atlanta in a hit-and-run accident as she was crossing the street, according to tweets from those close to her, including group member Brandi Williams.

Reed is best known as one-third of the Atlanta-based girl act, who achieved success for their hits “808″ and “Bring It All to Me,” which featured ‘NSYNC’s JC Chasez. The rapper also parlayed her musical success into an acting career, starring in the 2000 hit comedy “Bring It On” along with her group members.

Reed would have turned 33 on Sunday. She was a protégé of the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, who also left behind a girl group, TLC, in 2002.

Reed is survived by her 10-year-old son, Tren Brown, with rapper Kurupt.

Sad news indeed. This story I found says it was not a hit and run.Sister seemed troubled if what is online is correct.Too bad that she didnt get the help she may have needed as she was talented and more importantly leaves behind a now motherless son.

According to a press release sent from the Gwinnett (Ga.) Police Department to E! News, police received a call of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle at about 10:30 p.m. yesterday. “The driver of the vehicle contacted 911 to request assistance,” the press release states. “Natina Reed was pronounced dead at Gwinnett Medical Center at 10:59 p.m. E.S.T.”
“Preliminary information indicates that Reed was in the roadway on Lawrenceville Highway near Hamilton Road when struck,” the release continues. Though the investigation is ongoing, the release states that the driver “was determined to be not at fault and there are no charges pending.”

    >Nylaconnect: You say she seemed troubled… perhaps you have seen something I have not. What are you referring to?

The reports that I read was:
She was working on a Rap album, new movie, reunion with her group.

While she was not killed by a hit-and-run, she was hit by a car and killed, as she was crossing… or walking alongside the road. There are no additional witnesses, and it was kind of dark in the area. In the area where she lost her life the traffic moves at highway speeds.

My sincere condolences to her family.
