Rapper/singer Nicki Minaj performs onstage during the 40th American Music Awards held at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on November 18, 2012 in Los Angeles

*Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj and Linkin Park were among the winners at the 40th annual American Music Awards on Sunday, broadcast live on ABC from Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre.

The show, which also featured such presenters and performers  as No Doubt, Christina Aguilera, Ke$ha, and Carrie Underwood, also included a tribute to the late Dick Clark from Stevie Wonder.

The show reserved much of its broadcast for nostalgic moments, including clips of Michael and Janet Jackson, NSYNC, Whitney Houston and Will Smith performing as the Fresh Prince. But for the first AMAs broadcast since Dick Clark’s death, Ryan Seacrest and Stevie Wonder delivered a heartfelt tribute.

In his opening remarks to the audience, Wonder said “I remember his love.” He and Clark had been friends for 49 years. Watch below.

Minaj, who won Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album for “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded,”  took to the stage to perform “Freedom,” as well as a duet with Bieber. Watch both performances below.

Psy was joined by MC Hammer for a mashup performance of “Gangnam Style” and some of Hammer’s hits. Watch below.

Usher, who took home the award for Favorite Soul/R&B Male Artist, opened the show with a mash-up of his hits “Numb,” “Climax,” and “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop.”

For the first time in AMAs history, 2012 marked the introduction of a new EDM (electronic dance music) category. David Guetta beat out Calvin Harris and Skrillex to bring home the prize.
