*Someone should have rethought the photo shoot for this December/ January cover of Ebony, because NeNe is not looking as sexy as they intended.
The “I’m very rich” woman sits in a tub full of diamonds, smiling with a glass of champagne. It’s the money and power issue, but the message doesn’t quite get conveyed that way. It looks sort of cheap and gimmicky.
Jus’ sayin’.
But you aren’t reading this article for the opinion. You want to know the news.
So here it is.
Others are saying the cover is trashy and gimmicky, but this is exactly how NeNe wanted it. Her vision is manifested and telling the world, she’s very rich because she made the “Money and Power” issue, which includes other industry show stoppers.
Among the 2012 “Power 100” list are the likes of Att. Gen. Eric Holder, Cam Newton, Cathy Hughes, Cee Lo Green, Bishop T.D. Jakes, Rihanna, Tyler Perry, Shonda Rhimes, and plenty more.
And by the way, today, Friday at the Lincoln Center in NYC, Ebony is celebrating those powerful people at the Power 100 Gala.
If ever there was a sign that a magazine is on its way out…
Just…wow.
The cover celebrates a culture of women of women who are known solely for hooking up with men for their money.

This magazine is so irrelevant. Does anyone subscribe still? An ignorant, loud mouth ghetto reality star gets to be on the front cover. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson are rolling in their graves. Unbelievable!
Diva, you took the words right out of my mouth! EBONY has come to this??? SMH When I was little, I used to look forward to reading it and looking at the pictures at my grandmother’s house. JET is just as bad, if not worse…WOW…Ne Ne of all people??? I guess it will be the black version of Sid and Nancy on the cover next…
I agree with all the above comments. Also, It’s just a matter of time before it’s the end of Ebony/Jet. It’s sad now that they have to combine monthly/weekly issues.
