Sherman Hemsley to be Buried After Three Months

*Finally Sherman Hemsley can be buried.

A Texas judge gave the actor’s best friend the go ahead to proceed with the burial and running his estate, as the will intended.

Known for his role as “George Jefferson,” Hemsley passed away on July 24 after suffering from lung cancer.

His body has been sitting in a refrigerated storage at a funeral home since.

Richard Thornton, the actor’s half-brother, contested the will, which was signed six weeks before his death.

But Judge Patricia B. Chew decided in favor of Flora Enchinton, who was named in the will as executor of Hemsley’s estate.

Thornton will be seeking an appeal.
