*Tavis Smiley and Cornel West can’t be held down very long, it seems.
Lat week Tavis was in the news for blasting their former outlet, Public Radio station WEEZ, for dropping them because of bad ratings.
The hosts of the “Smiley & West” radio show are gaining coverage on the air in Chicago with two new affiliate stations.

On Sundays at 3pm Central, fans can tune in to WCPT – Chicago’s Progressive Talk, and on Saturdays at 11am Central on WVON 1690AM – The Talk of Chicago beginning Nov. 10.
“We are encouraged to see more stations add The Tavis Smiley Show and Smiley & West to their airwaves, making it available to more listeners nationwide. The conversations that Tavis and Dr. West lead are important to understanding our increasingly diverse communities,” said Alisa Miller, president and CEO of Public Radio International.
On Thursday, November 8 at the Thorne Auditorium at Northwestern University, both Smiley and West will host a “Poverty, Power and the Public Airwaves: Post Election Analysis and Commentary. The town hall meeting will discuss the election and the role media has played in the transformations of the country’s democracy.
