Anita will sing two circles around Tyrese.
No need to hate on Tyrese, his “Lately” was quite lovely. Plus, he has to get props for having the original. That said, while at first I was skeptical of Anita’s remake because in general I value originality over re-dos, she OWNS that song now. I LOVE her version. She is one of those artists who bring it EVERY time. I hope she wins this award.
I love Anita Baker’s music, always have. I hope to see and hear more from her in 2013.
I have not listened to the radio in ages so I never heard Tyrese’s nor Anita’s version of this song. Went over to Youtube and took a listen to both versions. I like Baker’s version better. She sings the song like it was tailor made for her. I like it!
