*Some 300 dancers convened in Philadelphia in February to set a world record for the world’s longest Soul Train line. Organizers on Monday finally received confirmation from Guinness that the feat is officially in the record book.
Guinness World Records has certified that February’s Soul Train line outside the Philadelphia Museum of Art, featuring 291 dancers, as the world’s longest.
The previous record of 211 dancers was set at a California high school last year.
Organizer Sheila Simmons says the record-setting attempt was inspired by the death of longtime “Soul Train” host Don Cornelius on Feb. 1.
