*Jay-Z enlisted the help of his wife Beyonce and a host of friends to launch his new cognac in Florida.
The rap mogul unveiled his new liquor D’usse cognac with a lavish bash at the LIV Nightclub in Miami over the weekend .
Coming out to support were Kelly Rowland, The-Dream, Young Chris and Paris Hilton, among others.
D’usse is Jay Z’s joint venture with booze giant Bacardi.

I expect to see many posts bashing Jay-Z about endorsing a liquor brand/bring black people down/investing his money elsewhere. This board does it to every other rapper. I don’t expect
him to be excluded.
well let me be the first, cant these nucca’s endorse something like a vanguard index fund, how bout and african american mutual fund like Ariel Investments? not another dayum liquor company. how bout endorsing wealth management……team up with melody hobson for christ sake…
huey you are my boy! Don’t take this the wrong way. How do you know they don’t endorse those things? Just because YOU haven’t seen them/heard of them endorsing xyz doesn’t mean that it hasn’t happened. A lot of rappers and other celebrities endorse things we don’t know about it. Certain media outlets pick and choose what they report on. You know that.
i hear ya, but disagree, if he endorsed ANY, and i do mean ANY, kind of financial vehicle i would know about it.
Not surprisingly, suggesting that he head some sort of branding effort in the finanacial sector boarders at your usual edge of ridiculousness.
When has a financial services company used ANY celebrity endorsement?
Ariel exists w/o Shawn Carter. Why would any financial institution bet on a celebrity’s endorsement?
I swear, you are one of the most ignorant to date.
Let me be second then…
This dude just erased all lines of separation he had resurrected between himself and the rest of these cats out there…Basically he reverted and lowered the bar by himself. Now he’s back in the pack with the rest of the dudes, hocking anything to their people (liquor) for that next fist full of dollars. Luda, Diddy, Jermaine Dupri, Nelly.. Yeah they are top tier, and definitely making a hella more money than I do…but is it worth the cost of adding to the horrid decay of our people as a whole? Decay that we only see with more and more intensity and in common ocurrence, while the few that have been blessed with the power of presence and voice, simply sit idle and lay witness to in name of self preservation and advancement. Its a shame how people of such influence chose to use for such meaningless bullshit…
Put your name behind a personal investment program, a continuing education brand, or a self help and social image makeover idea… So our youth something other than how much money you have, your photo ops with big name actors, presidents, and anybody else that bolsters your image in the name of self gratification. Don’t help sell your people more problems in a bottle, sell them a path way to their dreams…And before anyone says it, I don’t mean these so called “foundations” that everyone has as a front for their tax shelters eithers.. I can’t be mad at another man for be successful, but I can be disappointed in the path that one with soo much potential to do positive things for and with our people decides to take.
In other words. You don’t have the slightest clue as to what “positive” things he does for and with our people. Instead, although you claim that you ain’t mad at another man success, your actual post about the matter is totally different. You don’t want “foundations” even though people w/cash across political/racial/demographic/industry divides have plenty of what you criticize here.
Don’t try to reinvent the wheel here and fashion “rappers” as the key to our financial success.
u never cease to amaze me the way u lap your labium superius oris & labium inferius oris around jay z’s testes and are the first one in this forum to bash any woman who comes to the defense of tyler perry.
@musbdherbs
“When has a financial services company used ANY celebrity endorsement?”
how about Sir Paul Mccartney teaming with Fidelity Investments Mutal Funds knumbnuts….
“Why would any financial institution bet on a celebrity’s endorsement?”
because it makes good financial sense u dumb piece of carcinus maenas excrement.
Well idibot, if you dug a little deeper, you would know that Fidelity also helped finance Sir Paul’s tour. Quid pro quo.
Moreover, did Paul roll out his own “marketing/financial” initiative during his work w/Fidelity or simply do an ad and they pay for his tour? Jay is launching his OWN cognac.
But I assume the work Paul did over 7 years ago was the best you could come up w/. Sounds about right.
I come back in here and y’all are swinging! LOL! Hold on, lemme get my cup full of
“Cognac D’Usse”.
@mus
How the deal is structured does not matter shyt head. My point is made. Sooooo I guess all u can do is grab for empty points. What a dyck . Resesrch yourself. I ain’t spoon feeding u.
Let me be the third. I cosign with Huey and Kaotic (particularly the last eloquent sentence of Kaotic’s post).
P.S. Huey, you are wrong for all that “labium” stuff. LMFAO
