In it’s fifth issue of new magazine Candy, the mother of two and wife of the commander in chief was portrayed by a transgender model, Connie Fleming with a controversial headline, “The Candydate.”
The zine’s publisher Luis Venegas says he was inspired by the historical happenings in the White House.
“I remember back in early 2007 when the Democratic Party’s nominees were narrowed down between two “controversial” stereotypes never before seen for presidency: a black man, Barack Obama; and a woman, Hillary Rodham Clinton. At that time, I thought, ‘when will the time come when these archaic walls break down and the White House will be occupied by, for example, a black, transsexual woman?'”
Perhaps he has a point, but seriously, portraying Michelle Obama as a transsexual could be quite offensive to some.
