Obama to ‘Meet the Press’ Sunday Morning; First Time in Three Years

obama (on meet the press)*The world is watching President Obama and Congressional leaders as they attempt to come to an agreement to avert the so-called “Fiscal Cliff” crisis.

In the midst of all that, on Sunday, the president will sit down for an exclusive interview with David Gregory on “Meet the Press.” It will mark the first time in more than three years since he last appeared on a network Sunday talk show.

The exclusive interview was announced on Saturday by NBC. According to POLITICO, Gregory was scheduled to be on vacation for this Sunday’s program. Gregory himself, by the way, has been the subject of media scrutiny recently after holding up an empty gun magazine clip on the air during a confrontation with the president of the National Rifle Association.

Mediaite notes that the upcoming appearance of the president on “Meet the Press” is “the first time Obama has been on any Sunday morning network talk show since September 2009, when he pulled a ‘Full Ginsburg’: appearing on five networks in the same day to push for the health care law.”
