Uh Oh, Korean Rapper PSY Not Such a Nice Guy to the U.S.A. Before ‘Gangnam’

President Obama Getting Heat for Attending Upcoming PSY Performance

psy on toilet*Well first things first, the president is not really attending a PSY performance; he is actually headed to the traditional “Christmas in Washington Concert,” where PSY is performing. There’s a difference.

As you may recall, EUR recently published a story about a petition for president Obama to join PSY at this same concert, and participate in the new phenomenon: “Gangnam Style,” dance created by PSY. Since that time  Yahoo News cites reports that PSY participated in anti-American rallies just a few years back. Word is, according to the referenced news story anyway, some peeps don’t want the president to go to the concert that was a tradition before PSY was even born, not to mention famed, because PSY will now be performing there.

According to news reports, PSY protested the U.S. military presence in South Korea during the early stages of the war in Iraq; and even performed a song originated by another act, containing lyrics about killing the “Yankees” who have been torturing Iraqi captives and their families “slowly and painfully.”

Ouch.

If the claims about the Korean rapper are true, and if he really feels such distain for this country, one would be moved to wonder why he would have accepted the invitation to perform in the political pot of Washington, of all places. Then again, some say that money can be a good motivator.

We’ll see how, or if, this “plot thickens” and report back.

As you were.

  1. Don’t really see what the big fuss is about. The man was just reminding Americans of their values which he learned from staying here.

““Kill those f—ing Yankees who have been torturing Iraqi captives/ Kill those f—ing Yankees who ordered them to torture/ Kill their daughters, mothers, daughters-in-law, and fathers/ Kill them all slowly and painfully.”

    That’s America’s policy on torture.
Japanese were tried and hanged for torturing American prisoners during World War II with techniques that included waterboarding.

““As a proud South Korean who was educated in the United States and lived there for a very significant part of my life…The song I was featured in—eight years ago—was part of a deeply emotional reaction to the war in Iraq and the killing of two Korean schoolgirls that was part of the overall antiwar sentiment shared by others around the world at that time. “

    • Reds, I only read the “anti American” headline on this, I did not know he was protesting the Iraq war. Thank you for the clarification! Your post crystallizes why it was so dangerous for Obama to take a hands-off, “let’s move on instead of addressing things” approach to Bush’s lies and war crimes. The rest of the world did not delineate Bush from America. He committed war crimes in OUR name. He should not have been allowed to walk away from that unscathed. Until this country atones for what he was allowed to do (with the help of a lot of weak, timid Repubs and Dems), there will be a cloud over our heads. Some things you can’t just sweep under the rug. Iraq is one of those things. We really needed and deserved a Bush successor with courage enough to speak out boldy against Bush and company and to take action. We didn’t need a wuss. We needed a leader.

Well, they got to “sanitize” the news so it doesn’t reflect negatively on American presidents.

From all indications, Romney and the other Republicans were ready to re-open the torture chambers if they get in the White House.
The only way to get these Republicans to stop committing war crimes, is to make it perfectly clear that there will be consequences for their actions. By making an example out of one of them.

This guy is an idiot and shouldn’t be allowed to perform. Hell, Jeremiah Wright was ostracized talkin bad about america but this guy gets a pass? Yeah right.

And this nut had the nerve to be educated at Berkeley?

    • You sound like right-wingers complaining that Common should not have been allowed to perform at the White House because he called Bush out for being the liar he is.

  3. wenmichimar says:

It was reported this morning on the Today Show this guy has so far made 8 million from this foolishness. Prez Obama needs to stay way from this silliness!

  4. nylaconnect says:
