Deitrick Haddon, Isaac Carree, Damita Haddon
*In a Facebook message posted on January 20, Deitrick Haddon told Isaac Carree to “man up” over an alleged affair he had with Damita Haddon, Deitrick’s now ex-wife.
In August of 2011 a credible source informed me that the couple had quietly divorced after 15 years of marraige. Although many industry people were aware of the split, it was news to fans as Mr. Haddon decided to go public via a series of Tweets last August. After vague references to his not being man enough to maintain his marriage and sketchy references to the career demands tearing them apart he said he and Damita both were fine and had moved on.
Apparently, he spoke too soon. Haddon is not ready to leave well enough alone. Little by little the plot of this scandalous narrative is thickening. . .
At the end of December last year Haddon posted photos of Destin Monet Haddon, his daughter and her 24-year-old mother on Instagram. In previous posts, he had omitted reference to a new relationship the young lady is now his fiance and becoming a father, leading some to conclude he’d had an extra-marital affair.
On January 20, Haddon returned to social media to divulge more specifics about why he and Damita split in response to fan backlash about his divorce, alleging his ex had an affair with fellow gospel singer Isaac Caree.
By the end of the post of several paragraphs long he confronts Carree:
“I appreciate your new song ‘Clean this house,” you know I’ve always been a fan of yours since day one & I’ve never done anything to hurt you but you left one sin out of your song that would have set the record straight & solidified my healing process & that is adultery! I hate to see you walk in deception when it’s unnecessary. Yes I have forgiven you but I want to see you be the true man that God is calling for all us to be.”
Haddon’s post has since been removed.
However, the “In the Middle of It” singer has responded. Although Carree’s statement neither directly confirms nor denies Haddon’s claims, it is clear that something is awry.
Here’s what Carree had to say:
“It has been brought to my attention that Deitrick Haddon recently made some very hurtful statements about me. I, as well as my wife, are both shocked and confused by Deitrick’s actions. It saddens me that he would seek to engage in mudslinging with me, especially because he and I have spoken openly and honestly about this, even long before his allegations. While I have no desire to drag these personal conversations into a public forum, he and I both know what the truth is. Still, I pray God’s best for him and his family. This weighs heavily on me, but I am grateful for the opportunity to speak from my heart. This will be the only statement that I will make regarding this situation.”
Ironically, the Stellar award winning song “In the Middle of It” was co-written and produced by Gerald Haddon, Detrick’s older brother.
Damita Haddon has not addressed the issue publicly.

I am appalled that Deitrick carried this over to social media, due to him being so private. Once he took it to God he should have left it there, not spill over to face book for the fans and to stabilize his sales….
its apparent the formal Mrs. Haddon stepped out on Mr. Haddon FIRST.. and Mr. Haddon is still hurt by this and went on and did his thing also..and as result a child came forth not from his wife..AND? That’s what happens when this type of thing happens in a marriage..christian based or not..
I can’t understand why Mr. Haddon came to social media for this.. not unless, Mrs. Carree had no idea about the adultress affair Mr. Carre had with Mrs. Haddon until Mr. Haddon made it known currently via social media? If that’s the case…that wasn’t kool.. for Mr. Haddon to go to social media to air all involved & their dirty laundry.. although if Mrs. Carree didn’t know what her husband did(stepping out with Mrs. Haddon and had an adultress affair).. then Mrs. Carree needed to know for sure..what really happened..
This is really stupid. You are going to address your private life on social media because of what your fans are saying…..If they were your fans they would not make stupid comments on your personal life. Some people of god are really a trip. Damita has the good sense not to address this.
This is a clear sign of Deitrick Haddon’s spiritual immaturity. He needs healing and doesn’t need to minister to anyone else until he gets it so he can minister from a place of healing not pain.
I totally agree. A lot of the “christian” singers are not truly committed to christianity as much as they are to using whatever way they can to get rich and famous. A lot of these dudes/ gals couldnt make it in the secular music world (as evident by the nature of their so called “gospel” music) so they the thought throwing the Lords name around and playing save would be another way in. But, it all comes out in the light because you can truly see who is of the spirit and who has another spirit. They are all human. We all make mistakes but this is basic christianity. This isnt the book of Revelations. They should have known better.

…I guess no one reads the Bible…Even if Demita stepped out on him…divorce isn’t what the Bible tells us is the course of action. Even if Isaac did not do anything…his brother is hurt by something he has seemed to have done…he needs to take proper Gospel centered action to build up a brother…
my issues, people only do things based out of what THEY feel is best…not what scripture gives as a guideline. In my opinion, sin is what’s causing folks to do all this, and take sides…no one wants to actually do and pursue Godly advice…because of money, because of pride…because the life they lead my come to end…WHERE is True repentance…Bobby Jones has been gay for years yet we still support him…so many Gospel singers divorce, have adulterous acts, and do so many things….yet we still support them.

First of all I’m very saddened about the break-up and all that led to the divorce of the Haddon’s. It is imperative that the truth be known, to prevent a repeat of this action and to liberate the victims and prevent others from being victimized. Adultery is the only reason that God gives us for divorce. Now we must love (agape love, God’s love; 1st Cor 13) all of them enough to forgive them, restore them and let go of all that concerns this issue-by giving them to God in prayer and leave it there. Please, everyone. It looks like we are all judging from different standards here, whether they are Christian or not. Dont forget: we are all human first, and work to become spiritual. What people dont realize is this happened 2 years ago (the affair) which led to the divorce. Mr Haddon had not addressed the affair as the reason for the breakup or anything, even though he was extremely close with his wife and Carree. That takes a strong man to hold that in. But the problem came in when Haddon began a relationship long after with the woman that saved his life during the time after the split. They later had a baby, which he was remorseful for (the baby was born out of wedlock). He has not publicly ministered in a year while he underwent
spiritual counseling, and that takes a strong man to do that, as well. When the news media learned about the baby (only recently though), they blamed Detrik for the split, stating that he had the affair and had the child while still married. When the media came to his wife about this, she did not attempt to set the record straight – even a little bit – to say it was after the split. And Carree did not show any support or refute anything as well, which Haddon couldn’t take anymore. Remember, we all are human, dont make his standard higher than what you’d have for yourself.

Why Facebook? Shouldnt Christians take their burdens to the altar and let the Lord handle it? This is appalling for so many reasons. Above all, there is a whole lot of coveteousness coming in from both sides. Caree was covetous of Haddons wife and fell into the sin of adultery and Haddon is covetous of Caree’s success and decided to tear him down by airing it all in the secular world instead of taking it to the elders of the church. Its a shame and I doubt Jesus is being glorified by any of this. Ignorant folks need to just shut down Facebook and Twitter accounts and stop making fools of themselves publicly.

I really don’t know what happen..but in spite of what happen I wish Deitrick didn’t fall in the manner he did…yes! its tough to see that 15yrs is lost..NO marriage is perfect! but thats doesn’t give us the OK to cheat.. OR have a baby out of marriage.you think the next marriage will be perfect? NO! ooooh Jesus help US..may God keep Deitrick and also Demita… to tell the public that they are no longer together without giving a explanation would leave us in dark places..for 2yrs caree and demita didnt say anything…Mr haddon coulnt take it anymore..ppl there action wasnt right but! let pray for them!!!!!! They divorced, they did not tell anyone, that is their right to do so. They don’t owe the public any explanation. She cheated he separated from her, divorced her and moved on. End of story. NO ONE has the right to judge the situation. GLASS HOUSES, folks. That is between them and the Lord. We all have to meet him and answer for our actions. Mind your business, and your own front porch. All you guys are talking, but who cares? You might have done the same thing if it was youn everybody has a solution on how they would handle others business, but I can garantee if it was you, you might just do it too. I personally believe he only brought this to social media to remove the attention off of his wrong doing. A new woman and a new baby all around the time he was still married. Moving forward….Why social media and the public?? If you had/have ought against your brother take it to him. Sounds like Dietrich is the one who needs to man up.

Deitrick needs meds for his mental illness. There is much of it in the church too. Why couldn’t you have called Issac ( I know you have his number). Deitrick this is worst than a woman gossiping and sickening especially for a man. You got a divorce so why are you bringing this mess up? ….ah huh because you still want Damita but you got your baby Mama so move on and get some bipolar meds from CVS
