Kevin Hart (L) and J.B. Smoove speak on the BET Networks panel for “The Real Husbands of Hollywood,” on Jan. 5, 2013 in Pasadena, California

*If you thought the “Real Husbands of Hollywood” skits were funny during the BET Awards, then you will not be disappointed with the full-length series premiering on the network Tuesday.

Kevin Hart stars in the comedy series as an even more hyper version of himself – the lone single guy in his crew of buddies, including Boris Kodjoe, J.B. Smoove, Nick Cannon, Duane Martin and Robin Thicke – all playing versions of themselves as well.

Kodjoe plays up the “pretty boy” of the group, Cannon is competitive with everything from the size of his house to the star power of his wife, Martin is the proverbial “hustleman,” Thicke is only allowed to hang out because his wife is Paula Patton and Smoove is referred to at one point as the most ghetto of the bunch, yet only famous among white people because of his role on HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”

“We all play ourselves, but an over-exaggerated version of ourselves,” Smoove told EURweb’s Lee Bailey at a BET Cocktail Party held after their TCA session in Pasadena. “It’s a mock reality show, so we take everything that happens in the reality world – we’re just as catty, we’re just as vindictive, we’re – all these different things you see in reality shows, we do it in a funny way.”

Below, Bailey asks Smoove if working the mock-reality show format with Larry David on “Curb Your Enthusiasm” gave him an advantage on “Real Husbands.” Smoove’s wife, singer Shahida Omar, makes a cameo during the interview.

“The Real Husbands of Hollywood” premieres Tuesday, Jan. 15, at 10 p.m. on BET. Watch the promo below, and scroll down for the “prequels” from the BET Awards.
