*The Wayans family is at it again with another spoof of all the latest so-called scary movies with “A Haunted House.”
Marlon Wayans told CNN that the film was an easy task because it was inexpensive and fun to do.
“I wanted to figure out a way to do a low-budget comedy film,” he said. “Found footage was the way to go because that’s what this generation is used to so I wanted to capitalize on that,” he added, speaking about the so-called ‘found footage’ that lead to “Paranormal Activity.”
Marlon’s character, Malcolm and his girlfriend Keisha (Essence Atkins) move into the house they think is their dream home. But Keisha becomes possessed. Then the couple begins to seek outside help, but that’s when everything gets turned way up.
The film is a creative piece because 70 percent is scripted while 30 percent is improv. Marlon even admitted he’ll take input from just about anyone.
“The person from craft services might say, ‘You know what you should do?’ and I’ll listen,” he said. Although “99.9 percent of the time it’s really bad, every now and then someone will hit that and I’m like, ‘That’s funny.'”
He’s also producing a BET show starring his nephews called “Second Generation Wayans.”
