*According to Deadline.com screenwriter Michael Starrbury has been brought onboard by Morgan Creek Productions to rewrite the biopic on the iconic late rapper, Tupac Shakur.

The film was originally penned by Steve Bagatourian, Stephen Rivele and Christopher Wilkinson.

The rapper’s mother, Afeni Shakur, is set to executive producer; alongside producers James Robinson, David Robinson, and LT Hutton.

Tupac was killed in 1996.

Starrbury penned “The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete,” about two abandoned small boys trying to survive in the city. That film will be showcased at the Sundance Film Festival this year.
