*It’s official – the 1999 romantic comedy “The Best Man” will get a sequel.
Universal announced Thursday that Taye Diggs, Terrence Howard, Nia Long, Regina Hill, Morris Chestnut and Harold Perrineau have all signed on to return for “The Best Man 2,” to be released on Nov. 15, 2013.
Also returning is director Malcolm D. Lee.
The original followed a writer (Diggs) whose recent autobiography put him at odds with being the Best Man at the wedding of his best friend (Chestnut).
No word yet on the storyline this time around.
This could be interesting, but sadly the 3 faces above are complete sell outs IMO so I doubt if I will support this movie.
I’ll support it. Even if I have to get it bootleg. I don’t give a snap who these men’s preference in women is.
I plan to see it because I enjoyed it and it’d be great to see what these beloved characters have been up to 14 years later.
Hopefully, Monica Calhoun (Mia) and Melissa De Souza (Shelby) will sign on soon.
Can’t forget about Sanaa Lathan (Robin)…hopefully, she’s on board as well.
