*This trial for the killer of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin could be delayed even further.
It’ll be almost a year ago that the black teen was walking home on a dark evening in Stafford, Fla and was fatally shot.
George Zimmerman is the gunman, a neighborhood watchman who initially claimed he was defending himself, despite orders from police for him to stay indoors until authorities arrived.
The defense asked the court for an extension to better prepare for the case, claiming prosecutors have been slow to turn over evidence.
In the meantime, Zimmerman is still collecting donations for his defense fund.
“The state has virtually unlimited resources to prosecute George,” his attorney Mark O’Mara said on the defense fund website. “To finance his defense, however, George relies on the generosity of individuals who believe he is innocent.”
Spokesman Shawn Vincent said Zimmerman’s attorneys want his second-degree murder trial to be moved from June to November. Zimmerman has pleaded not guilty.
A hearing for the suspect is scheduled to take place in April, 45 days before the scheduled trial.

No sale, George your trial needs to take place this year. The family of Trayvon Martin deserves the right to face the individual who shot their son in court. What do prosecutors stand to gain by dragging their feet on turning over whatever your lawyers need to get the legal process started? Strange that your lawyers have not gone to the media to put pressure on the prosecutors. George, your lawyers can attempt to move the trial from June to November, all they want. The public has not forgotten what you did.

“…despite orders from police for him to stay indoors until authorities arrived.” There were no orders from police for anything. He was told by a 911 DISPATCHER that he “didn’t need to do that” meaning he didn’t need to follow the person he called in to 911 about.
Why should they hurry with all the racist who are dumb enough to send them money!
This idiot does not deserve to have his trial delayed, he killed an unarmed young man plain and simple, he should of backed off when told to do so but NO!! he had to play Mr Vigilante!! just so sickening!!!
He’s allowed to ask for a delay in trial to ensure he gets a fair hearing. Let’s wait to hear all the evidence.
Gayle only a few things matter in this case. An armed man followed an unarmed man he did not know and who had done nothing to him, and the unarmed man was killed by the armed man. There was ONE aggressor and one victim. The aggressor lived. The victim died at the hand of the aggresor. That’s all that matters. Another year’s worth of “evidence” will not amount to a hill of beans. Zimmerman will never find an adequate defense to harrass then kill an unarm man. No more months waiting will produce an adequate defense.

I don’t believe all the money is coming from individuals who believe he is innocent. I believe some of the money is coming from individuals who do not like blacks and could care less if he was innocent. They are just glad he shot a black young man.

Anyway, Zimmerman and his lawyers are feeling the PRESSURE.. that is why they want to delay the trial.. plus he needs more money.. he might as well plea to a lesser charge and call it a day.. and accept his fate -PRISON..
