*Landon Brown, Bobby Brown’s oldest son, is still living with the nightmare of a false reality that a tabloid painted of his life.
In 2008, he interviewed with the National Enquirer about life with step-mom Whitney Houston, following his appearance on an MTV reality show competition.
The quotes used for the story were used in a way that painted a false image of his life with the late singer.
The story implied physical abuse by Whitney’s mom, Cissy Houston, and questioned Whitney’s parenting skills. There were also mixed messages that claimed he was kept away from his sister, Bobbi Kristina. Shortly after the report came out, he cleared the air in an interview with AOL Black Voices.
Five years later, he’s still seeing that tabloid story pop up online.
In an exclusive interview with Jawn Murray’s AlwaysAList.com, he talked about his reaction to the story.
“You know that terrible feeling like your heart just dropped to your ankles? That’s how I felt when she called me about the interview! I had to explain to someone who treated me like her own that I didn’t realize someone would flip my words to make a story juicy,” he said.
While reflecting on his time with the late singer, Landon remembered an incident when Whitney and his mother, Melika Williams were together and he felt awkward about calling both of them “mom” while they were in the same room. Landon’s obvious avoidance of referring to Whitney as his “mom” hurt her feelings.
“I playfully called her ‘lady.’ I was like, ‘Hey lady, you want some cake?’ I just wasn’t sure if I should call them both mom or if that would make my mother feel a lil uncomfortable. I thought it was nothing until she called me later that night after the festivities asking why I didn’t call her mom. I was a lil shocked. I thought it was a strange moment, but nothing she’d remember. I felt like a jerk! I still didn’t know what I should’ve done in that situation, but for some reason I felt wrong. I know it really hurt her when my sister called shortly after asking what had I done cause [Whitney] was upset. I explained what happened and my sister laughed at me and told me you should’ve just called her mom you know you have more than one! That made me really feel terrible that my youngest sister saw the answer so clearly! I love my mothers and my siblings and I would never want to be the guy to slander their names.”

Landon must look like his mother
I bet he thanks God for looking like his Mom…my goodness that Bobby Kristina is so hideous and with all that money, why not get a good hair weave and close that gap. My mother in law says a person with a big gap is usually a liar..
Your mom should have taught you better manners than to speak negatively of someone. Bobbi Kristina is not hideous – she just inherited more looks from her father than her mother. Her gap comes from her father. It’s her choice to cover it or close it. I think she should have it closed also, but that is her choice. How would you like it if someone called you hideous?
Landon sounds like a very nice caring person,I bet it was a awkward experience for him.
holy moly, the kid’s nice looking . . .teeth, teeth, I want to see teeth
He’s is a fine looking your man. It’s easy to understand the awkwardness of that moment with his mom and Whitney. Seems like a nice young man and I’m glad he’s not out to make a buck planting disparaging stories about Whitney when she was kind to him.
EUR , I don’t know if y’all that clueless or you are doing it on purpose, but you are doing exactly what you are reporting was done to Landon by using that headline.
I just happen to decide to read the article, but if I didn’t, I would go forth from now having the same impression of Landon which I had when I first saw the headline.
Anyone reading that headline would assume that he was a jerk and treated Whitney badly. As Landon said, “someone would flip my words to make a story juicy.”
That’s exactly what you did with that headline. Used a controversial heading to make the story sound juicy. Shame on you.
Totally agree.. EUR has a way to embellish a situation.
If the situation happened as explained , WHY would Whitney call Landon and make him feel guilty? Landon didn’t fall out of Whitney’s womb nor did Whitney RAISE Landon, Landon’s bio-mother gave birth and raised Landon as her son and she is the mother and not Whitney.
If anything, Whitney is the STEP-mother and that’s her role to Landon alone.. not his mother..especially if Landon’s bio-mother is active in Landon’s Life, and apparently she was..so IMPO Whitney was WRONG to put the GUILT trip on Landon as Whitney’s step son.. for not calling Whitney “mother” in the presence of Landon’s biological mother.
He must look like his mother’s side of the family………………………..
He Looks Like Ralph To Me .. He Don’t Look Like His Mom At All
