*Original cast members from the groundbreaking television mini-series “Roots” participated in a live Q&A session today as part of its “Town Hall” series. LeVar Burton, Leslie Uggams and Louis Gossett, Jr. sat down at 2 p.m. for a Q&A session with a select group of listeners and SiriusXM host Joe Madison at the company’s studios in New York City. Madison hosts a live, daily call-in show about politics and social activism on SiriusXM’s African-American talk channel, The Power.

John Amos was my class-mate at Colorado State University back in the day. He was a very nice and comical guy who always kept us laughing. If you ever see him, tell him to tell you the joke about a man sleeping on a bench and the MGM lion. I forget the punch line after all these years. He used to wake us basketball players up at 5am on Saturday morning to invite us to the Old Main basketball court to play basketball after practicing all week from Monday to Friday.
