*Frank Ocean is letting Chris Brown off the hook, at least legally, for allegedly assaulting him last Sunday.
He won’t file charges and explained that he’s going for the peace role.

“As a child I thought if someone jumped me it would result in me murdering or mutilating a man. But as a man I am not a killer. I’m an artist and a modern person. I’ll choose sanity. No criminal charges. No civil lawsuit.”
An altercation between both singers allegedly broke out in a parking lot at a recording studio in Los Angeles. Shortly after the incident, Ocean tweeted that his counterpart jumped him and now his hand is cut.

Bravo to Frank. This shit was straight mutual combat, anyway.
But I’m always intrigued by these stories of someone choosing not to “press charges” in a criminal case. In my neck of the woods, you don’t have that option. It’s up to the state, and there is nothing the victim can do to stop it. The most he can do is to not cooperate, and make the prosecutor change his mind since it will now be too difficult to prosecute.
Seems clear that the reporting wasn’t always accurate on this.
Besides, you don’t give a post-not-to-file interview talking about how you would murder someone as a child, don’t whoop ass as an adult and then decide to walk back your initial decision to press charges.
