*The above photo of a diamond-encrusted gun popped up on Kim Kardashian’s Instagram last week and all hell has broken loose.
Needless to say, it was quickly taken down amid a huge backlash. Critics questioned the timing of it, which came in the wake of Kim encouraging her Twitter followers to help combat gun violence following the Sandy Hook massacre in Connecticut.
A source close to Kardashian tells E! News that the whole posting of the gun was “a mistake.”
“Kim hates guns and immediately took it down,” the source said. But not before the angry comments rolled in.
“@KimKardashian you have too much influence to be this blind and ignorant. Innocent children & people still die even if the gun is pretty,” wrote one follower.

Others, however, defended Kanye West’s other half for putting it up.
“Kim Kardashian posted a pic of a gun on Instagram & now everyone is all pissed off. I forgot the 2nd amendment didn’t count for celebs,” tweeted another follower.
Meanwhile, it was just last month that Kardashian spoke out in favor of gun control.
“Today, people in Newtown are making the #sandyhookpromise to reduce gun violence,” she tweetedon Jan. 14. “Sign the pledge with me at atsandyhookpromise.org.”
Does anybody expect anything different from this DITZY broad??
America has too many air heads calling role models in this country! This country is really sick. To say that Kim Kadashan is a role model with influence is like saying a pedophile would make a good baby sitter. Americans please reassess your values.
Kim is not that stupid. She continues to play on the public and laughs all the way to the bank. She is well aware of the recent issues regarding gun control. Bad or good publicity gives this chick a high. This isn’t a slip up.
