*Oprah Winfrey, 59, came to a realization that her extravagant Santa Barbara, Calif., home – albeit impeccable – wasn’t an accurate reflection of who she is, reports People.com.
“I knew my house was impressive,” the talk show host writes in the March issue of O magazine. “I mean, just about every guest I ever invited for dinner told me so as they perched on the edge of the opulent sofa, trying not to get fingerprints on anything. I owned a stately home and I poured my heart and soul into making it perfect.”
But it wasn’t until she brought over respected designer Rose Tarlow, who pointed out, “This house has nothing to do with you,” that she realized things needed to be modified. It was then, with Tarlow’s assistance, that Oprah began redecorating her entire living space.
“The gilded mirrors, marble urns, the lavish carpets and sherbet palette – it was all very grand, but it wasn’t very true to myself …,” she wrote. “Maya Angelou once told me you can become either an old female or a wise woman. All I can tell you is that I’m evolving, my taste is, too, and someday soon this room will represent the person I’ve become.”

To busy, to much going on and what’s with that plaid….LOL I know she likes to read but really.
This goes to show you just because one has money doesn’t mean one has opulent taste! What is up with the tray and the figure of a black woman near two candles? Looks like Hattie McDaniel is serving coffee to Massuh and the plaid got me feeling dizzy! I am a man, and I think I could coordinate better than this! Get that membership to ikea or visit Target! That room is too clustered – how they hell can she read (I would have vertigo like a mofo) with the flying plaid!
LOL!!! Really Oprah??? the room with hte boos etc is not that bad but, the plaid room is just wayyy too gaudy and cluthered. I want ot see the rooms/house when the redecrating etc is complete.
Give me a break. Just admit you were tired of the way it looked before and change it. She is so dramatic!
