*Does Obama personally know anything about guns? Has ever even fired one? That’s what some were asking.
So, White House released a picture of the POTUS in the act of firing one
In a recent interview with the New Republic, Mr. Obama revealed that had used a gun at the Camp David presidential retreat.
“We do skeet shooting all the time,” the president said. “Not the girls, but oftentimes guests of mine go up there.”
Well of course that got nothing “yeah, right” responses the president’s conservative critics and questions for the press secretary Jay Carney, who was asked if photos of Obama shooting a gun even existed.
“There may be, but I haven’t seen it,” the spokesman said. “When he goes to Camp David, he goes to spend time with his family and friends and relax, not to produce photographs.”
Well by golly, lo and behold, a photo (above) was released Friday shows smoke coming from the barrel as Obama holds the gun against his left shoulder. The White House caption accompanying the photo by Pete Souza, the official White House photographer, notes: “President Barack Obama shoots clay targets on the range at Camp David, Md., Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012.”
As all know, addressing gun violence is one of the key platforms in the second term of this president. In the New Republic interview, he explained that he had “profound respect for the traditions of hunting that trace back in this country for generations.” But he also noted that “the reality of guns in urban areas are very different from the reality of guns in rural areas,” where he said children often grow up hunting with their families. “You can see why you’d be pretty protective of that,” he continued. “So it’s trying to bridge those gaps that I think is going to be part of the biggest task over the next several months.”

Seems like Obama is the only one making any sense. He’s stated it very clearly that he has no intention of affecting hunting, trap or skeet shooting, target shooting, etc. But the hyperbole from the right and the left continues to try to make liars out of any sensible debaters, and ends up, as usual, making the detractors look like the knuckle dragging fools they are.
If you really think that Obama makes sense, you had better check the location of YOUR knuckles.
I would hope that the official White House photographer could at least prepare a better photo shopped print than this one!! To anyone that knows about firearms, this is so obviously fake. There is no evidence of recoil whatsoever on Obama’s body and black powder hasn’t been used as a propellant in ammunition since the turn of the century. Only black powder could have caused as much smoke that was inserted into this photo. Spare me!!
Not really. The smoke is about right for 12-gauge smokeless. But there is obviously no recoil. Look at this stance, back position and the butt on his shoulder. Appears to have been shooting a blank.

Staged photo, showing no recoil. Look at the “shoulder contact. It would have been painful. A ported barrel on a shotgun would reduce recoil…expected of this wuss of a man. Stance is all wrong. Probably no load and very little recoil…like movie and TV guns. Does ANYONE believe that this is real?

Your saying the photo was ‘staged’ Aug. 4, 2012 in anticipation of the need to be shown during the 1st week of February 2013? Is that right? Gee, I guess the photographer could see into the future and figured he would need to supply a ‘doctored up photo’ 5 months later.
But since you were there, of wait, you weren’t there. How would you know?
12 gauge shotguns do kick. But other than a bruise on my shoulder, I was no worse for wear after firing one. I was 12 years old by the way, shooting ducks at Tulelake, CA with my father, circa 1959. Yeah, I had a license.
BTW, A fast shutter speed can mask any movement. The smoke shows that. I think your ‘wrapped a little to tight’
