*Sheryl Underwood, about to mark her second anniversary on CBS’ daytime show “The Talk,” continues to celebrate the diversity of the ladies around the table – a mix of white, Asian and African American – as well as the folks behind the scene that render them camera ready each afternoon.

“Our lighting guy is lighting every race of people on our show, and lighting it well,” said Underwood, 49. “I don’t know if he used to work for Oprah or what, but he took 25 years off of me.”

Additionally, Sheryl’s Twitter followers know that the comedian has been told on occasion that her makeup on the show “is poppin’.”

“My makeup guy Dell McDonald, been with me for years,” she said, adding that his talent, plus the lighting guy’s expertise, has opened up certain wardrobe and wig opportunities that she previously thought were no-no’s to sisters with her complexion.

“You ever watch the show – and I’m darker-skinned but I got on yellow? You know we don’t wear yellow this dark…or orange,” she laughed. “Or they’ll let me wear a curly wig, when curly wigs are supposed to be kind of a hostile look for our people. Or they’ll let me wear strawberry blonde, or something with highlights.”

  1. I find Sheryl very annoying especially when she’s clapping and jumping up and down when a guess comes on the shop. I know she’s educated, I just wish it would show more.

    • correction: comes on the show

      I confronted Sheryl on twitter when she first came on that show . About why she act and talk so ghetto on that show,when she is really an articulate college educated women.Her twitter followers tore me apart after she told me off with words I won’t repeat on here..LoL

      .I will say I’m proud of her. But sometimes she goes overboard on that show.Her make up artist does an amazing job on her. LoL

  2. The one thing we can never do is dictate how someone else should act, no matter how public they live their lives. Sheryl is a comedian and one that believes bouncing around and being over loud are part of her schtick. I would never step out there and try and tell any of them anything because they embarrass me. Its just easier to change the channel.

  3. Agreed bebi, and I love Sheryl via “Show Time at the Apollo” (not daytime), that said . . .if makeup and lighting could do something with those gums!

  4. sorry, I meant debi :}

  5. I guess she broke the light skinned, model type on TV because she is hideous, big time
