*Former WNBA player and Olympic gold medalist Chamique Holdsclaw is being indicted for charges stemming from a Nov. 2012 shooting in Atlanta.
The basketball player is being charged with aggravated assault, criminal damage, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
She was arrested following an argument with basketball peer and ex-girlfriend, Tulsa Shock’s Jennifer Lacy.
Allegedly Holdsclaw smashed Lacy’s car window and then shot at it. No one was hurt.
Her attorney says the two actually maintain a civil friendship now, so he believes there will be a favorable resolution at the end of the process.
“Sometimes charges get made that exceed the scope of the actual events,” Attny. Edward Garland said, adding that he and his client plan to resolve the case without it going to trial.
Holdsclaw is out on $100,000 bond.

I guess it’s like with wild animals, if you stand still they won’t pounce. Jennifer, if it’s gone this far, ‘mique gon’ jail. being friendly my ass. All that name callinj is juvenile. Calling somebody a dyke” is like calling someone a “nigger”… uncalled for and ignorant. How many “dykes,” “niggers” and “fags” do you know? Hmmmm.
And the same thing happens in relationships between men and women. For them to make amends and be civil to one another is a good ending to what started out as a sad story. Hopefully, everything will work out and Chamique won’t go to jail. She was a good player in the WNBA years ago, maybe she’ll decide to play again.
Chamique was such a great basketball player. So sad to hear that her legacy will be tarnish because of this. She has been very open about her mental illness issues in the past. I hope she can get some help.
