*Deion Sanders came out the victor after a heated child custody battle against his estranged wife, Pilar Sanders.
The former NFL player will maintain full custody of their two boys, 11 and 13, while they share custody of their 9-year-old daughter.
According to court documents, Deion will make all the major decisions for the boys’ lives, including education and health, while sharing responsibility for their daughter.
“I’m thankful; I’m elated. In any war, there will be casualties, but I didn’t want the casualties in this case to be my kids,” Deion celebrated.
Pilar told the press she was “flabbergasted” after hearing the jury’s decision at the end of the one-week trial.
The former couple will maintain residence in north Texas for their children. Pilar’s attorney is considering an appeal.

Ok P, it’s a wrap & now “official”! You are not getting anymore of D’s cheese ‘on yo burger so, the next time you buy one?, ask them for an….application. GET A JOB, CHICK!!! Ps….I bet she damn near had a fkn SEIZURE!!!!, battin dem fake ass eyelashes, at the judge, to no avail. Wah wah wah waaaaaah!
I’m just curious, he gets full custody of the boys, but shared custody of the daughter?
I can’t think of a better situation for those boys because a little boy belongs to his mother until he is six, after that he belongs to his father. The little girl still needs the benefit of both parents and with both of them being a little cuckoo crazy maybe this will create a little balance in their lives.
Pilar now needs to go and find her her own hustle and prove to herself that she can make it on her own,
debi? are you a scientologist? Nazi?. . . . sons and daughters EACH need the security and nurturing of BOTH PARENTS!! Divorce makes them be more creative . .I’m just hng up on your word “belong” . . .In the words of the “real” little rascals: You want to turn them into “He-man woman haters” . . .
debi this is the truth right here. “Pilar now needs to go and find her her own hustle and prove to herself that she can make it on her own”. I say things like this all of the time.
@nihhtshift….Well, you know what they saaaaaaay?…..”Mama’s baby, Papa’s?….maaaaaaybe! Maybe ole bioy pulled some “secret shyt” out, to cement his victory! Wah wah wah waaaaaah! And anyway?, let’s be honest!, most if these celeb. mothers only want custody?, for that “check”!!! NOT for “securing the proper raising” of their children. All that shyt they “say”, is just for “pimpin the court”/slanting the story in “their” direction. Stop playing! Hollah!
These types of rulings really shouldn’t’ be a surprise anymore. We see how easily money can influence the corrupt judicial system. Usher bought himself a damn judge and now it seems Deion went and got himself a whole jury that was bought and paid for. From D Wade to Chris Bosh, it’s the same pattern. The system has no empathy for a black woman dumped by a philandering wealthy entertainer or athlete. She is now a woman scorned. No matter how you try to rationalize it (lie to yourself), the fix is in. All them mofos getting full custody and leaving the woman high and dry. Let him keep his damn money, but don’t take the woman’s kids. It’s aiight if you want to hate on Pilar, Siohvaughn and Tameka, but at least be man enough to admit the obvious. Since when has it been routine in this society to give full custody to the father, unless the woman is found I to be on drugs or in some way pose a danger to the kids? Well, I guess the rules change when a lot of money is involved. As they say in Amerikkka, money talks.
Fact is White males has always gotten full custody of their children since forever after a divorce- if they can PROVIDE for them BETTER than the ex wife/ spouse, ..and i ‘m with THAT as COMMON sense.. these BROTHERS standing up and being MEN taking full custody of their children as it should be, ans no one brought anythng.. not dieon , D-Wade, or Usher, or any of the rest who are fostuate to get full custody as FATHER- its call COMMON SENSE.. full custody should go to the SPOUSE who can better provide for the children, whether its the Mother or the Father, its time for MEN to step up and take their rightful place with their children after a marriage ENDS. So NOW PILAR has to get a DAYUM job to support herself..and not rely on a child support check to live off so she won’t have to work..THAT’S what’s UP..WAKE the hell UP and stop hatin.. if you can’t provide BETTER for your children as an ex-spouse and your ex-spouse CAN-you don’t deserve full custody of them simply becuz you’re a MOTHER and the EX wife.. get a clue..
“these BROTHERS standing up and being MEN taking full custody of their children as it should be, ans no one brought anythng..
its time for MEN to step up and take their rightful place with their children after a marriage ENDS.”
If you want to buy that bullshit and think it’s not ALL about avoiding to pay child support, then I got some ocean front property in Arizona to sell you.
You are dead wrong about any insinuation about more men desiring to have full custody.
Here are the statistics on what parents desire in custody (of course that’s when they don’t stand to lose millions as Usher and Deion).
Custody arrangements desired by the parents
Sole possession to mother 82%
Sole possession to father 3%
Joint possession 15%

“if you can’t provide BETTER for your children as an ex-spouse and your ex-spouse CAN-you don’t deserve full custody of them simply becuz you’re a MOTHER and the EX wife”
That’s why they call it child support, to pay the extra support which the mother alone cannot afford. By your argument, custody cases should all be about who has the deeper pocket, which we all know it’s not. I don’t know why everybody acting as if they lost their damn mind all of a sudden. By your argument, the majority of custody cases would end with the father getting custody, which statistics shows is not the case.
Child custody outcomes: Mediation and trial
When parents mediate:
Sole possession to mother 63%
Sole possession to father 6%
Joint possession 25%
Other 6%
When parents go to evaluation:
Sole possession to mother 44%
Sole possession to father 11%
Joint possession 40%
Other 5%

So who’s hating? I’m just expressing my surprise based on what was expected giving how child custody is routinely decided in this society.
As Pilar said “she was “flabbergasted” after hearing the jury’s decision.”
(To the folk crafting the headline– PLEASE learn when/when not to use apostrophes. The headline should read, “Deion Sanders Gets Full Custody.” No apostrophe is necessary in that headline!)
Reds it all balances out because if a man is not wealthy the system is double stacked against him to the point where he has no recourse. For us regular folks we know that a scorned woman will unjustly go for blood and the courts will allow it. Talk about corrupt? Also could you provide some actual facts to your statement or how you came to the conclusion that “Since when has it been routine in this society to give full custody to the father, unless the woman is found I to be on drugs or in some way pose a danger to the kids?”? If a father is deemed more fit to have custody of the kids, regardless if the mother is on drugs or unstable, then he should whether you perceive that he shouldn’t in the case of the forementioned.
Keeper Of The Gate, the first round of drinks are on me! *daps you up*

Once more for good measure.

@ Reds
Please provide your resource and also if you are going to cut and paste keep in mind that I also said injunction with that statement is that ” If a father is deemed more fit to have custody of the kids, regardless if the mother is on drugs or unstable, then he should whether you perceive that he shouldn’t in the case of the forementioned.”
While you are at it with your research please research if the average Joe is as suscessful with getting custody compared to “wealthy entertainer and athletes”. Keeping with my first statement you make it as if the system is stacked again women but your figures prove otherwise…..you can’t have it both ways.
injunction = in conjunction
Once people find out about punctuations, they just go plumb loco!
@ ccity
”Keeping with my first statement you make it as if the system is stacked again women but your figures prove otherwise…..you can’t have it both ways.”
How did you come to that conclusion?
I asked ”Since when has it been routine in this society to give full custody to the father, unless the woman is found I to be on drugs or in some way pose a danger to the kids?”
(My data supported that argument).
Then of course, I answered with the special case where someone’s pocket was deep enough to skew the regular order of things:
” Well, I guess the rules change when a lot of money is involved. As they say in Amerikkka, money talks.”
Your claim, on the other hand, is that these special cases arise because the average Joe is not as wealthy as these entertainers and athletes to win out over the mother.
I
beg to disagree. I know I don’t have to pull up statistics showing the income gap between men and women in our society, regardless of race, social or economic class.
It’s just a blog so slow that neck down before you lose your wig.”!”
ok, let me put it to you this way, the system has no empathy or sympath for a non-wealthy black man who is seeking custody. Your statistics prove that point. Until they system is balanced and fair for the average Joe then I have no sympathy for your feelings for men or women who can use their wealth to influence the outcome. As someone had pointed out the custody should go to the parent that can provide best for the child and not just because you are the mother.
@ccity
“As someone had pointed out the custody should go to the parent that can provide best for the child and not just because you are the mother.”
And yours and theirs simplistic argument is that the parent who earns the most money is the one that can provide best for the child?
That argument is flawed in so many ways.
I don’t know what’s your definition of provide, but even if in your narrow minded world, it’s all about money, then that’s exactly what child support is supposed to address. A way to provide the same amount of financial support for the child’s up bringing as if he/she was only with the wealthy father. It’s the same funds, just now diverted through the mother.
But apparently, you think that a child well being is all about the money. Thankfully, our society is humane enough not to support your callous attitude towards child rearing. It’s a scientific fact tat children grow up being closer to their mother. It starts in the womb, the biologically connection between mother and fetus which allows a child to naturally bond with the mother right after birth. Many psychologists believe this emotional and psychological attachment provides the psychological foundation and maybe even the social and physical buffer we need to thrive in the world.
This is one of the main reasons why our society deems it necessary to allow this to continue and allow father’s full custody in only 3% of cases. Psychologists also observe that children deprived of their mother, who lost this secure attachment, will become less secure.
The jury got it right!
The boys will be with their dad, their mother will have visitation.
The young girl will be shared! She is at an age where her hormones will start to come into play. She will need her mother to work thru puberty.
Kind of sad, Pilar decided that she did not like the pre-nup and started acting out.
I don’t like the idea of pre-nups they seem to work long enough to get to the altar. smh
You know what, y’all? Neither Deion nor Pilar will read these comments. Let’s just pray that these children will be okay, that their parents and caretakers will do their best to take care of the children in their care, and that both Deion and Pilar will GROW UP. Now— let us all move on…
Standing Cyber Ovation to you Sharon Sue. Regardless of what side of the argument you fall on, it makes not whit of difference. The decision has been made.
