6-month old shot while getting diaper changed
*Derrick Rose has a special place in his heart for Chicago. Since the violence has taken a toll on the community and children’s lives are being lost, the basketball player has managed to find a way to help a grieving family.
Touched by the murder of a 6-month old baby in his hometown, he’s offered to pay funeral expenses for the child, Jonylah Watkins.
The baby was fatally shot while getting a diaper change in a minivan his father was driving. A man walked up to the vehicle and opened fire. Jonathan Watkins was the target of the shooting. The father survived.
Police have yet to identify a suspect, and speculation leans towards it being gang-related. Surveillance video may help determine the shooter.
