*It’s still a wonder why Michael Vick is still making headlines about dogs.
But in the latest Vick/dog news, the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback apparently owns a young Belgian Malinois, a type of Shepherd.
A CrossingBoard.com source confirmed a Vick sighting at a New Jersey PetSmart, where the family and a bodyguard shopped for their little doggy and signed up for six training classes.

Unfortunately there’s more to the story.
According to a TMZ report, Vick’s new dog is the worst possible breed HE could have chosen … and that’s from the official organization that breeds the dog.
The American Belgian Malinois Club and Rescue tells TMZ, the group is very concerned that Vick is allowed to own ANY dog, but the Belgian Malinois is especially problematic. The breed is highly trainable and they could easily become dangerous if they land in the wrong hands.
Vick, as you know, ended up training pit bulls to fight and kill.
Belgian Malinois — which are frequently used by the military and police — have the same fighting potential as pit bulls.
Although the organization thinks dogs should be off-limits in the Vick household, they believe a more docile pooch — like a lab — would be way more appropriate.
But what’s done is done … and the ABMC wants to help Vick properly train the dog. The rep says the org. is willing to help Vick find a good trainer for the dog and educate him on Belgian Malinois so he can “learn and love the breed.”
Hello ABMC, you’re on the late freight. Michael Vick, as our story above says, already began training classes. And we just don’t believe that with as much attention he will be getting, he would even think about harming the dog. He’s not that stupid.

Mr Vick has paid his debt to society. I am sure he would not be dumb enough to start with the dog fighting ish again, Let this man live and enjoy his life without the hassle from the whiners. My Goodness!!!
I agree babycakes, but I do understand people having some reservations. Whatever is ingrained in MV’s dna that posessed him to inflict such unspeakable savagery on defensless animals in the first place didn’t just evaporate because he spent time in jail or whatever he was ordered to do. It may be buried a lilttle deeper than before, it’s still there. If I were a dog, and knew who he was, I’d be scared shitless of him. No matter the debt he paid to society. To some, giving MV a dog probably makes as much sense as giving Jeffrey Dahmer a young man as a roommate after he served his sentence.

SSSSSSOOOOO Redman bc MV did not drop those dogs in the fighting rings BUT he did hhmmmm..let’s see drowned, hung, beat and electrocuted them THAT makes it ok??? OMG!! What are you thinking?? This man KNEW what was happening and was all for it. Kinda like the famous quote”SHOW ME THE MONEY!!” That was what it was about. This does not matter if he is black, white, red ,yellow or pink with polka dots! This man was a dog murderer! As above if John Wayne Gacy had served his time would you let him be a child care worker or better yet a boy scout leader?? I agree people do their time and yes second chances are deserved but NOT when the crime is as violent as this on animal or man! That would be like letting a convicted sexual predator do their time and when they get their slate is wiped clean, But it is not they register on a list and they have things they can and can not do. @kay, I understand what you are saying and I get some people’s concerns but I would think Michael would not want ot go thru the ordeal of serving time again for dog fighting and being persecuted by society, I would hope he has learned from what happened before. LOL!! the dog should be scared of him maybe so, but from what I have seen dogs love their owners unconditionally without judgement.
I’ve never owned a dog, but I’ve seen several dog owners get attacked by pets that loved them uncondionally and without judgement just moments before they tried to rip their throats out. But, I’m with you that Mr. Vick has probably learned from what happened, and I hope he and his family, especially his children can get past this and be ok.
This article itself is simply not true. The “ABMC” has made no statements. They are not “fighting dogs”, etc. Nice attempt at getting attention and starting discussion but a MAJOR “FAIL” at telling anything like the truth. You’re about as honest as MVick himself. Goodbye.
