*Beyonce has reportedly shut out professional photographers from her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour.
A venue contract drawn up by her camp states that “no photo credentials” will be granted for the tour, which kicked off last week in Serbia. Instead, Beyonce has hired one photographer – Frank Micelotta – to take all photographs, which are then distributed to the press after each show. News outlets have already been given a link to a handful of Micelotta’s shots from her recent shows in Amsterdam, Zagreb, Belgrade and Bratislava.
Beyoncé’s UK publicist confirmed the restriction of photographer access to The Guardian. It is thought Beyonce made the move in response to a number of photos of herself being the focus of an online feature earlier this year at BuzzFeed. The singer’s publicist asked the website if they would remove the awkward images captured during her Super Bowl performance back in February, after they showed her pulling various unflattering facial expressions.
Meanwhile, the ban hasn’t stopped crowd members from taking cell phone photos, which are also circulating around the Web.
The UK leg of ‘The Mrs Carter Show’ will begin at Birmingham’s LG Arena on Friday (April 26).
