*Steve Harvey has been an extremely successful comedian with the various platforms he uses to make people laugh. But on occasion, he gets serious and says something real.

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, the comedian says he’s amassed a lot throughout his career despite believing “Hollywood is still very racist.”

“Hollywood is more racist than America is. They put things on TV that they think the masses will like,” he tells the publication. “Well, the masses have changed. The election of President Obama should prove that. And television should look entirely different. Kerry Washington should not be the first African American female to head up a drama series in 40 years. In 40 years! That’s crazy.”

He adds that while Hollywood has its challenges, the focus of his work is multidimensional and does not solely focus on race or Black people.
