*Terrence Howard slipped quietly into theaters over the weekend with a role in Robert Redford’s new drama “The Company You Keep.”
Howard plays an FBI agent in charge of chasing down Redford’s character Jim Grant, a former anti-war militant wanted by the FBI for a bank heist during the 70s. He’s been in hiding for 30 years as a lawyer in Albany, NY…until ambitious young reporter Ben Shepard (Shia LeBoeuf) discovers his identity.
The FBI gets involved after Ben’s story attracts national attention, and the manhunt is on. Grant goes on the run with his 11-year-old daughter Isabel (opera singer Jackie Evancho), with Howard’s character Cornelius hot on his trail.
Redford, also the film’s producer and director (not to mention creator of the annual Sundance Film Festival) tells EURweb correspondent Marie Moore why he chose Howard for this film.
“The Company You Keep,” also starring Susan Sarandon as a member of Grant’s former militant group, Anna Kendrick as Ben’s FBI ex-girlfriend and Stanley Tucci as Ben’s editor, is currently playing in limited release. Watch the trailer below.
