*In his latest rant, Kanye West said he wasn’t doing an skits on the “Saturday Night Live” season finale this weekend, where he is the musical guest, but he showed that he definitely has a sense of humor in spots promoting the show.
Ye cracked a few jokes alongside this week’s host Ben Affleck and cast member Fred Armisen. In the first of three ads, Fred starts beat-boxing in an effort to coax Kanye into a freestyle session. “No, no stop. Don’t do that,” West says with a straight face while rocking a bandage on his forehead. [Scroll down to watch.]
On May 10, paps caught Kanye walking into a pole and injuring his forehead as he attempted to flee their presence. During a New York performance on Wednesday, the rapper ranted, “So I don’t want nobody trying to run up on me with no cameras, trying to sell pictures and sh– to magazines, asking me no dumbass questions, throwing me off of my focus and sh–.”
During Wednesday’s show, West also let it be known that he will be doing no “SNL” skits. “Hell nah, I ain’t doing no mother—-ing ‘SNL’ skits; this my goddamn life. This ain’t no mother—-ing joke,” he said.
But the rapper took off his cool for the ads. In the third spot, West and Affleck teased Armisen after he branded the trio as “three award winners.” “What award did you win Fred?” Affleck asked before Yeezy chimed in: “Yeah, what award was that?”
Skit or not, Kanye is expected to perform two new songs off of his upcoming sixth solo CD on Saturday night.
