*Lauryn Hill has built a reputation of being one of those weird artists that kind of fade in and out of the industry.
Though her last (and only) solo album dropped in 1998, she’s still been active, making new music and challenging audiences world-wide at special live performances at Rock the Bells, Summer Jam and South Orange Performing Arts Center.
And guess, what? She’s got something new for you.
“Neurotic Society (Compulsory Mix),” a song that reminds listeners that she’s an excellent rapper as well as a soulful singer. The new Hill track is a cascade of words and rhyme, and consistent with most of her other rap songs, it’s both angry and beleaguered, says Tris McCall of The Star-Ledger.
The song is quite reminiscent of her sister in the industry, Erykah Badu, and her work on the “New Amerykah” album.
