Oprah Winfrey and Forest Whitaker in “The Butler”

*In a bid to create more Oscar buzz breathing room, The Weinstein Company has moved the release date of its Lee Daniels-directed “The Butler” from October 18 to August 16, reports Deadline.com.

The film looks at the life of Eugene Allen, who served eight presidents from 1952 to 1986 and had a bird’s-eye view of the Civil Rights movement. He was long retired when Barack Obama became the first African American president, but was invited back for the inauguration.

Allen and his wife are played by Forest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey.
