*Eminem is currently putting the finishing touches on his eighth studio album (we think).
It’s been many moons since fans have heard from the veteran lyricist, other than in a few collaborations here and there.
Oh and how can we forget?
Last year, Em and Sluaghterhouse, his crew, delivered far and away the best cypher in BET hip-hop awards history, which further fueled anticipation for the new album.
So how long do we have to play the waiting game?
According to the rumor mill, Em’s album should’ve arrived sometime after Labor Day. But that ship has sailed, leaving fans to question when the damn thing will be in stores.
However, this doesn’t mean Em is slacking off.
On Wednesday night (June 5), photos appeared on the ThisIs50.com Instagram page, showcasing Marshall Mathers alongside the Black Hippy crew. Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock, Ab-Soul and Schoolboy Q were all in attendance. Lamar and friends were also joined by producer Denaun Porter and Bad Meets Evil member Royce Da 5’9”. The Black Hippy crew visited Eminem’s Detroit studio during a stop on the good kid, m.A.A.d city tour. While fans can only speculate about what the rappers were working on, there’s excitement to be felt regarding possible new music. Recently, Em was also spotted in the studio with fellow Detroit rhymer Big Sean.
Looks like Eminem’s forthcoming project is turning out to be a family affair.
