*Kevin Hart will play a best-man-for-hire who helps out a socially awkward Josh Gad in a currently untitled comedy for Screen Gems and Miramax, reports Deadline.com.

The film follows Jimmy (Hart) who provides best man services for men who don’t have best friends. Groom Doug (Gad) is a socially awkward guy who finds himself without a best man. He makes up not only a best man, but nine groomsmen, and eventually seeks out Jimmy’s help to create his fictional friends.

The project was written by Jeremy Garelick (“The Break-Up,” “Police Academy”) and Jay Lavender (“The Break-Up”), with the former also set to direct.

Hart’s previous film work includes ensemble film “Think Like a Man.” He next will be seen in the concert film “Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain.”
